From the streets of France, where weekends were spent shooting and editing Super 8 films, to the global stages of corporate communications, J.M. Bonthous’ journey into filmmaking has been one of passion and discovery.
After starting a career as a corporate communications consultant for European Fortune 100 companies, J.M. Bonthous was offered a position in New York at the global headquarters of Burson-Marsteller, where he oversaw the creation of corporate branding films, documentaries, and advocacy films for Fortune 500 companies.
This experience inspired him to establish a strategic communications agency in Los Angeles, where he continued exploring filmmaking by producing impactful corporate branding and digital advocacy films.
Now retired from corporate America, J.M. Bonthous dedicates his time to making filmmaking accessible to the next generation of creators through his books. He also creates self-financed short films for the pure joy of storytelling, shared with friends and family.
J.M. Bonthous divides his time between New York, Mexico City, and the French Riviera, where his journey began.
